My friend and I have been discussing how difficult it is to find young women in our age group who are interested in the kind of things we are. We are in our mid twenties but the bar and club scene just isn’t for us.

My friend is married and expecting her second child and I am back in school juggling a hectic schedule. It is very hard to find other twenty-something-year-olds to hang out with, when a romp at the local watering hole just doesn’t fit into your busy lifestyle. We’d love to be part of a book club or sewing circle, but many of the groups we’ve found locally are comprised of much older woman.

So we thought of trying to start our own club for other young woman in the Eastern Suffolk area of Long Island NY. It could be such a nice way to build new friendships. We could meet weekly and spend an hour or two discussing a chosen book we’ve all read, learning a new recipe, working on a craft or just enjoying some good intellectual banter. No need to be a skilled seamstress or gourmet chef, we can learn as we go! We are open to any ideas you may have as well. I’d love to learn about ancient mythology, how to rebuild a transmission or even yoga.

Rolled fondant is an icing that has the consistency of a sugar dough, and is usually made with confectioner’s (powdered) sugar, water and gelatin, or glucose and glycerin or other binding ingredients. Sometimes on the Food Network they use a similar product, Choco-Pan or a white chocolate version of this.

You can make rolled fondant at home (see first link in Sources.) The second link is a recipe for Marshmallow Fondant, which is inexpensive and easy to make and has a pleasant flavor. If you buy fondant, buy a high quality brand (I like Satin Ice) for best flavor and texture.

Even when you use fondant to cover a cake, you still ice it with buttercream frosting first. This allows the fondant to stick to the cake and also provides flavor. There are endless recipes for buttercream, but they are not necessarily made with butter. In cake decorating classes, we use a "buttercream" that is made with all-vegetable shortening. This results in a pure white frosting that can be easily smoothed out.

Set up for the gourmet chef, the conveniences will please the cook who usually makes reservations, too.

On this level is also the grand master suite complete with walk-in closet and see-through fireplace from the bedroom to the bath. The bath has extensive use of marble and interesting tile patterns, a steam shower, soaking tub and a heated towel bar for luxury after bathing. The suite includes it’s own washer and dryer as well as built-in cabinetry with a custom wood slab top.

Take the elevator to the lowest level and arrive at the gathering room. Slate floors make for easy living as you enter from the yard. This level also has the main laundry room, a theater room and another bedroom and bath. For convenience there is a wet bar complete with refrigerator and ice maker as well as a copper sink and a custom wood slab top.

Every detail has been attended to from the central vacuum to the custom doors, from the specialty light fixtures to the in floor radiant heating. This is the home of dreams, waiting for you to make your dreams come true.

The ad is too wordy for me to read all of it. When I am looking for a home first I look at the location then price, bedrooms, baths, year built, acreage and pictures. I don’t really care about the sellers opinion of the amount I will enjoy a feature. They might think a floating stairway is cool where I see stairs I think I don’t want to deal with stairs.

Well, I am 12 almost 13, and my sister wanted to get me the Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker for Christmas! I was wondering if it was any good? Or is the Easy Bake Oven better?
I am also getting other stuff like gift cards and stuff for Christmas, so no worries, I am fine with this gift!

I starting a gift basket business from home and wanted everyones input on a certain topic. I have come up with a name for the business, but am decideing if i should register it with the county and state right now. I dont want to form an LLC and if the busincess fails go loose all the money just to form the LLC and then have to close it as well. The reason i would use an LLC is because incase someone gets sick or is allergic to peanuts or something and decides to come after me. Or is there something else i could do for the time being? any advice??

My friend once told me about this book and it sounded interesting – the only other details I know is that I think it is a true story, and the chef who is a woman is a famous chef and she kept her identity secret once she moved. Apparently in the place where she moved (an island I think?) they eat really bland food and don’t have anything much available. She then has lots of gourmet food shipped to her and she cooks an amazing meal for the people.
