What type of material do you prefer in knives and cookware?

We have a new website ( www.mencook2.com ) about men cooking and we are looking to see what people are interested in buying? Cooking with what type of material? We really like gourmet standard and ruffoni. Anyone have any experience with these? How do you feel about a tailgate grill?

www.mencook2.com is the website. Like it? We are launching the 1st.

cutco for sure on all of it!!! their knives are the absolute best with the best warranty. their knives are high carbon stainless steel with a patented DD edge, they have thermo resin handles (bowling ball material) with an ergonomic wedge lock grip and theyre guaranteed forever. the cookware is 5ply with stainless steel on the outside and 3 layers of aluminum on the inside. boils water in like 2 min.

Teflon Cookware?

What’s a good teflon cookware that’s not too expensive that the teflon doesn’t flake off? I have T-fal now, and I thought that was good but apparently not. I don’t need gourmet cookware either.

Amazing nobody reads the questions anymore. You are wanting to know a brand of tephlon cookware right?

Well of course I would say Caphalon, but pricey.
I would look at copy cat cookware… Anything thats is hard anodized tephlon is better wuality than t-fal. I bought a set from Sams Wholesale that is a 15 peice set, Hard Anodized tephlon, with nice welded rivets, 18 ml metal. Are basically the same exact thing as Caphalon, without the price of it. It was $150 for the whole set. The other option would be to replace a pan a month if you want to go with the caphalon. The link below is the Sams website, and the set I got. I love them, and they will last me a long time.. Good luck..

What type of cookware to buy?

I am trying to decide what kind of cookware set to buy. I don’t want to spend a lot (no more than $150, at most) and it doesn’t have to be the best, but I want a decent set that will last. I am looking at a KitchenAid Gourmet Reserved set for $129.99 (ceramic and aluminum) at amazon but I am clueless about what I really need. I cook often and I have an electric stove. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

I use caphalon cookware and its amazing. It heats everything up evenly in the pot/pan no matter where it sits on the burner (i also have an electric stove) and I have NEVER had to scrub a pot or pan. All food, even burnt or dried wipes right out. They are a little more pricey but well worth it!

Best cookware set for newlyweds?

We just got hitched and have some money to buy a good cookware set. Most of our cooking is everyday stuff, but sometimes I like to go gourmet (I love cooking French food ala Julia Childs!) Any suggestions? Oh, and should we go with non-stick?

Wow! Tough Question!

Of course sizes will depend upon what you cook, and for how many. (I know there’s two of you, but family, friends, etc. should be considered!)

Also, if you are heavily into sauces, a saucier (medium-frying pan-looking thing with rounded edges at the bottom for easy whisking), perhaps a wok (if you are so inclined), and a few other specialty items should be considered.

As for materials… Stainless steel with a heavy bottom (see Revere<http://www.revereware.com/index.asp?page…
for an example. Unless you like polishing copper, get eh all-stainless type.

These will last more than your lifetime and give excellent service. There are many good brands, so do some shopping. OH! Get metal handles so you can stick them in the oven!

Non-stick. I was devastated when my beloved T-Fal just wore out and had to be pitched. It scratched badly, and cost a bundle! <grumble>

I hate to sound like a commercial, but having scraped, scratched and just plain worn out favorite pots and pans, I now buy Calphalon <http://www.calphalon.com/calphalon/consu…
Downside? Rubber handles. You can (carefully) slip them under the broiler, but no oven time please!

Otherwise, they are tough as nails, and work extremely well.

It may seem odd, but I have a couple of IKEA nonstick frying pans and pots. Incredibly cheap (3 pots, 1 frying pan for under $25), they are my "danger" pots. If I’m doing caramel, or a recipe that is new and likely to burn, I use them based on the theory that if the worst happens, I can replace them for a few bucks!

I hope this helps!

Best wishes!
